Rapper Iggy Azalea has been hit with a lawsuit from a producer who claims he helped launched her career.
Producer Jon Jon Traxx claims he is responsible for kickstarting her career and getting her signed with Def Jam Recordings in 2013 because he set up shows, introduced her to music executives and engaged a stylist.
He claims he worked with the Australian singer from 2009, when she was living in Atlanta, Georgia, and they terminated their contract in 2013. According to Traxx, there were strings attached to the termination and Iggy hasn't kept up her end of the deal.
The producer, who has reportedly worked with Mary J. Blige, Jessie J and Keyshia Cole, is suing her for at least $1.5 million, according to TMZ.com.
It hasn't been an easy few months for Iggy, who was hit was allegations her fiance Nick Young was unfaithful after a video reportedly showing him bragging about other women was leaked online in March (16).
The scandal made headlines while Iggy was on a press tour for her new single Team and she told reporters she had removed her engagement ring because Nick didn't deserve for her to be wearing his ring, but she insisted they had never split up over the drama.
"I know I haven't called it off; I have to have a talk with him and see how the talk goes. We're not unengaged yet," she told 103.7 KVIL's Leigh Ann and Courtney Kerr. "We're not not engaged, but you have to, like, do some work for me to put the ring back on (my finger)."
She set the record straight on Twitter a few days later, writing, "For the record, I haven't broken up with Nick... We are together and I would love to be given a little (a lot) of privacy on the matter."
