Singer/actress Hilary Duff is hoping to find love with a normal guy after revealing she is fielding potential suitors on dating app Tinder.com.
The Cheaper by the Dozen star separated from former ice hockey player Mike Comrie, the father of her three-year-old son Luca, last year (14) and she made the split official in February (15) by filing for divorce.
She has since returned to the dating scene and admits she has been using popular online app Tinder to help her find a new man.
During a candid interview on Los Angeles radio show Valentine in the Morning, the 27 year old confesses she is flirting with "about nine guys right now" and will have her first blind date on Tuesday (28Mar15).
She says, "It's true, I'm on Tinder... You know what...? In my life, I've always had really serious boyfriends, I've always met people through work, never been on a blind date, and so, I mean, what's the worst that can happen? I have my first date tonight and I'm talking to probably about nine guys right now."
However, the star admits most men who come across her profile don't believe it's really her: "You only have your first name (on your profile). I think some people don't know (that she's a celebrity). I think some people act like they don't know but they do, and then a lot of people are like, 'This is a joke, right?'"
Describing what she is looking for in a potential match, Duff states: "I think the first thing is obviously looks, which sounds super vain, but that is what you go for, natural chemistry, and then what they say in their little profile has to be funny. I don't want to see like, a shirtless mirror selfie, that's instantly a left (rejection). Just someone who looks like they do fun things and someone that can make you laugh in their profile. My profile says, 'Let's eat pizza!'"
Duff will be going bowling with her first Tinder suitor and although she is excited to date a "total normie (sic)", she won't be going alone.
She adds, "I'm bringing some friends with me... I still have my training wheels on. He knows, I've been totally honest with him about it."
