Gwyneth Paltrow's mum Blythe Danner is "so proud" of the actress and Chris Martin for making their conscious uncoupling work so well.
The former couple announced the end of their ten-year marriage in 2014. They are parents to 11-year-old daughter Apple and nine-year-old son Moses, and Gwyneth's mother Blythe revealed the estranged pair always put their children first in every situation.
"They have this extraordinary relationship," Blythe said during an appearance on UK show Lorraine on Monday (15Feb16). "The kids come first. Their support of one another I think is - you know, this isn't just 'la di da positive', this is absolutely truthful - they had this conscious uncoupling which some people question and say well 'what's that?' They've made it work. The kids come first, the family comes first, we do Christmas and holidays. I'm really proud of them, they've made it work so well."
Since becoming a mother, Gwyneth has taken a step back from the acting world, apart from a few appearances in movies such as the Iron Man franchise and the television series Glee.
However, Blythe is hopeful that when her children are older, Gwyneth will throw herself back into her acting work wholeheartedly.
"I've learned a lot from her - she's an extraordinary mother and such a brilliant actress," Blythe said. "I'm hoping that as the children get older that she will come back to it because to me there's no-one like her - she can do anything."
