Gigi Hadid has photographed Nicki Minaj, Karl Lagerfeld and Alessandro Michele for the latest issue of V magazine.
The hugely successful model teamed up with V editor-in-chief Stephen Gan for the project, titled Gigi's Journal.
"I've made it my lifelong calling to be in publishing in order to give photographers, musicians, models and artists a platform," Stephen told Business of Fashion of the project. "You're almost like a radio station that has to give artists airplay: the magazine was always that microphone to the world."
Gigi and Stephen first spoke about collaborating during September's (17) Fashion Month, where the blonde star was busying herself taking Polaroid pictures backstage. The 22-year-old model has been taking photos since she was young.
"When you think of what she represents in this digital era, when you have someone like that saying, 'I love the idea of there being only one original print to this image as opposed to a digital file,' that's a paradox, right?" Stephen mused. "As young as she is, she has conviction about things. That's rare."
A picture of Anaconda singer Nicki graces the front of Gigi's Journal, with the images inside the issue accompanied by handwritten notes by the catwalk star.
The issue will be available from 1 May as part of V Magazine's summer edition. And Stephen explains that it may be the start of a new venture for his publication.
"If I stumbled upon a good idea, I could get it published and get it out there and get that thought out to the world, and then quickly move on to something else," he said. "These sort of projects, like the Gigi Journal, can happen more frequently and at a more rapid pace."
