Supermodel Gigi Hadid had to scramble together an acceptance speech as she picked up the Our New Girlfriend prize at the 10th annual Guys' Choice Awards on Saturday (04Jun16).
The stunner was the recipient of the honour previously awarded to Kate Upton, Chrissy Teigen, Hannah Davis, and Emily Ratajkowski, and admitted she was not as prepared as she would have liked to be.
Looking nervous, the 21-year-old said, "I thought I was gonna come and wing it (my speech) and be good, but then I woke up early this morning and thought, 'Gigi, there is no way you're going to be calm or cool in front of Kobe (Bryant) ever in your life', so I called a friend and I said, 'What do I say that is funny?'
"(She said), 'Try and think of something you did mean to a crush in middle school or try and make a joke about that'. But I was like, 'I have always been a good girlfriend, even when in middle school when I have had crushes I have always been kind of nice'."
Ironically, the Victoria's Secret angel accepted the Our New Girlfriend award days after reportedly parting ways with singer Zayn Malik, 23, after seven months of dating, but she showed the former One Direction star is still close to her heart when she stepped out on Friday night (03Jun16), wearing a necklace with a 'Z' pendant.
She also posted a Snapchat video of herself lip syncing to Malik’s Pillowtalk hit.
Neither she, Zayn, nor their representatives have addressed stories suggesting the couple has broken up, and now sources close to the pair insist the split rumours are false.
One insider tells blogger Perez Hilton, "Gigi and Zayn are still together. The break-up reports are completely false."
Meanwhile, other winners at the Spike TV Guys' Choice Awards included Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, who claimed the Guys of the Decade prize.
Joking about their latest accolades, Ben told the audience at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, California, "I think it goes without saying that this is an award Matt and I have been dreaming about since we were little boys.
"I did (film flop) Gigli and Matt did that Liberace movie and all of a sudden it all seemed out of reach. Then I did (Batman v Superman) and all of a sudden it was back in reach again."
The Martian star Matt pretended to mix up the trophy honour, calling himself and Ben the "D**kheads of the Decade".
He added, "We will cherish this, and we we want to recognise some of the other nominees, some of the dudes who weren’t quite as decade-worthy: George Clooney and Brad Pitt", prompting his pal to quip, "F**k you guys.”
Julia Roberts was named Woman of the Decade at the Guys' Choice Awards, while her ex-boyfriend Kiefer Sutherland picked up the Outlaw prize, Anna Kendrick claimed the Hot And Funny trophy, and Olivia Munn won the coveted Jean-Claude Gahd Dam (sic) prize.
