Singer Frank Ocean was left disappointed when Quentin Tarantino axed his song from the Django Unchained soundtrack.
Ocean wrote a track for the movie but it did not end up being included, so he shared the song with fans by posting it on his Tumblr.com blog with the caption "Django was ill (great) without it".
Tarantino has now defended his decision to remove the song from the soundtrack, praising Ocean's efforts but insisting he just couldn't find a place for the track.
He says in a statement, "Frank Ocean wrote a fantastic ballad that was truly lovely and poetic in every way, there just wasn't a scene for it. I could have thrown it in quickly just to have it, but that's not why he wrote it and not his intention. So I didn't want to cheapen his effort. But, the song is fantastic, and when Frank decides to unleash it on the public, they'll realize it then."
