FERGIE has an inkling the highly-publicised feud between Taylor Swift and her friends Kim Kardashian and Kanye West is all for show.
The rivalry between the rapper and Bad Blood singer hit headlines once again earlier this year (16), when Kanye released his track Famous, in which he jokes about sleeping with Taylor and calls her a "b**ch".
The pop star's representative consequently blasted his choice of lyrics, before Kanye shot back and revealed Taylor was aware of the song and had given his lyrics the OK.
The story surfaced again last Sunday night (17Jul16), when Kim shared a series of videos on her Snapchat account, which showed Kanye on the phone with Taylor, apparently getting her approval for his controversial Famous lines.
Following the release of the footage, Taylor released a statement insisting she was never told that Kanye was going to refer to her as a "b**ch" in the song, and never gave permission for him to do so.
The drama prompted fans on both sides of the rivalry to stick up for their idols as the story played out in the headlines.
However, the reality TV star's friend Fergie, who recently featured Kim in the sexy music video for her single M.I.L.F. $, admits the controversy surrounding the feud has become such a hot topic, she wouldn't be surprised if the rivalry was all made up to begin with.
"You've gotta respect her (Kim) for sticking up for her husband," Fergie explained to Australian radio DJs Kyle and Jackie O on Thursday (21Jul16). "Knowing them, it's probably a big master plan. They'll probably all come together at the MTV Awards or something."
The Kanye vs. Taylor rivalry initially began at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, where the hip-hop star famously interrupted the singer during her acceptance speech for Best Female Video.
In the statement Taylor released in response to Kim's Snapchat posts earlier this week (begs18Jul16), she referenced the VMAs incident and made it clear she never wanted to be Kanye's adversary in the first place.
"Being falsely painted as a liar when I was never given the full story or played any part of the song is character assassination," she wrote. "I would very much like to be excluded from this narrative, one that I have never asked to be a part of, since 2009."
