Emma Watson was left reeling after reading an article novelist Will Self wrote about her career, calling the piece "demeaning and patronising".
The Harry Potter star sat down with the writer last year (12) to chat about her stint in the boy wizard franchise, as well as her subsequent films, including Sofia Coppola's The Bling Ring, and her time at university.
But the 23 year old admits she was hurt by Self's profile, which was originally printed in The New York Times in August, 2012.
She says, "He just took away any of the work. It was like my life had magically happened to me - that I didn't have anything to do with it. Like I had nothing to do with my own life. I really found it quite demeaning and patronising."
