Emeli Sande is giving Britney Spears a helping hand as she prepares for another pop comeback by writing a song for the Toxic hitmaker's new album.
The Next To Me soul singer reveals she has been keeping busy by working on tracks for her chart rivals Spears and Katy Perry with her producer pal Naughty Boy, and she had a blast penning catchy tunes for such big names.
She tells Britain's The Sun newspaper, "I've written a song for Katy Perry's album. We did a session together in New York. She was awesome, she knows what she's doing.
"And me and Naughty Boy did the Britney song and sent it off. It's fun writing for an icon and being Britney for the day."
Perry's new album, Prism, is due for release next month (Oct13), while Spears is planning to reveal all about her pop plans during a special announcement on TV on 17 September (13). She has been working with will.i.am, Australian singer/songwriter Sia, and producers William Orbit, Danja and Jean Baptiste for her as-yet-untitled eighth studio album, the follow up to 2011's Femme Fatale.
