Singer Ellie Goulding was left red-faced after an Australian TV host asked her if she was having a baby with British royal Prince Harry.
Since her split from rocker boyfriend Dougie Poynter in March (16) the 29-year-old's closeness to the prince has sparked rumors they are in a relationship.
Harry, 32, and Ellie have known each other since 2011 when she performed at his brother Prince William's wedding to Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.
Ellie, who insists she is just good friends with the royal, and Harry set tongues wagging after being pictured getting cosy at a polo event in June (16).
However, Carrie Bickmore, a host on Australian news and current affairs show The Project, embarrassed Ellie by asking if she was carrying Harry's child in an interview on Wednesday (05Oct16).
"You're not having a baby, though? Just to be clear," the presenter questioned, to which Ellie replied, "I'm not having a baby anytime soon."
Not put off by her denial, Carrie then asked her if she was pregnant by the royal, which left Ellie lost for words.
"Please don't make me go red. I'm bright red," the Army singer said as she briefly dived off camera. "Why did I have a feeling that was going to come up? Naughty people!"
When rumors were swirling that Ellie was secretly dating the Prince, a source told Britain's The Sun newspaper how they had flirted at a party following the polo event.
"They were seen having a kiss before Harry had to go because he was playing polo the next day," the insider said. "Ellie left about five minutes later. Harry was overheard on the way out telling some friends how much he liked her."
However the source added that Ellie's celebrity status meant they were unlikely to take their relationship beyond friendship and flirty moments.
"There's already a lot of talk amongst friends that the palace (officials in the Royal Household) wouldn't allow her as a serious girlfriend because of her celebrity background," the insider added.
