Eddie Redmayne and his wife Hannah Bagshawe confirmed pregnancy reports when she debuted her growing baby bump on the Golden Globes' red carpet on Sunday (10Jan16).
Speculation the Oscar winner and his wife of just over a year were preparing to become first-time parents initially surfaced last month (Dec15), and the couple opened up about the happy news for the first time ahead at the Los Angeles prizegiving.
Speaking with TV personality Ryan Seacrest on E! Live From the Red Carpet prior to the ceremony, the host commented on how eventful the past 12 months have been for the Redmaynes.
"It's been unbelievable," Hannah concurred. "So much has happened we can't even compute."
Ryan asked if a baby was indeed on the way, to which Eddie said, "That is true!"
He then gifted the parents-to-be with two tiny onesies, which had the phrases "You should see my crib" and "Milking my 15 minutes" printed on the front.
Meanwhile, Eddie and Hannah faced a race against time to get ready for the Hollywood bash after they suffered a luggage delay at Los Angeles International Airport upon arrival from the U.K. on Sunday afternoon.
They managed to make it to the Beverly Hilton Hotel just in time for their red carpet call, where Eddie explained his big rush to NBC broadcasters Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie.
"About an hour ago," Eddie confessed when asked when they had actually arrived in town. "My wife and I ran off. Unfortunately the luggage thing at LAX... stopped working, so there was a tight moment there, but we made it, so it's good."
Eddie is up for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama for The Danish Girl - a prize he won last year (15) for The Theory of Everything.
