Bosses at a substance abuse charity in the U.K. have invited Lady Gaga to visit a drug treatment center after her cannabis smoking stunt on stage on Monday (17Sep12).
The Bad Romance hitmaker has been criticized by officials at Blenheim CDP, a London-based charity, after she lit up a marijuana joint during a performance in Amsterdam, Netherlands - the cannabis capital of the world.
The star also donned a t-shirt emblazoned with marijuana leaves before declaring her love of cannabis to fans, saying "It has totally changed my life... It's, like, been a totally spiritual experience for me with my music."
But John Jolly, chief executive of Blenheim CDP, has blasted the incident and offered to take Gaga to one of the charity's medical units to see the damage drugs can cause.
He tells news website DailyMail.co.uk, "I think it's always unhelpful when people in the public eye of a particular influence are seen engaging in drug use, particularly because cannabis use is a significant problem for people under 25 in the U.K.
"The predominant drug we are dealing with in our treatment centers for people under 25 years old is cannabis so it's particularly unhelpful when things like this happen."
