Drake has released a new short film inspired by his album Views.
The Canadian rapper previously announced the project in a now-deleted Instagram post, but now all has been revealed after Please Forgive Me was released on Monday morning (26Sep16) exclusively on Apple Music.
The action-packed film is said to be inspired by his recent album Views, and includes seven tracks from the album.
Drake is the leading man in the 23-minute long film, which also stars Popcaan, Fanny Neguesha, Soni Chidiebere and Kyla Reid.
Described by Billboard.com as a mix of famous movies such as Indecent Proposal, The Bourne Identity and Taken, the film was directed by Anthony Mandler, the man behind Drake's Over, Miss Me and Fancy videos.
Mandler has also directed videos for Jay Z, Nicki Minaj and and Rihanna. He co-wrote the script for Please Forgive Me along with Apple Music Head of Content Larry Jackson, who also produced the film.
Please Forgive Me was filmed in a week-long shoot in Soweto, South Africa, back in July (16), before the start of Drake and fellow rapper Future's joint Summer Sixteen Tour.
The film is only the second visual to emerge from the release of Views, which dropped back in April (16). Drake has so far only debuted videos for Hotline Bling and Child's Play from the album.
Views held the number one spot on the Billboard 200 for 12 consecutive weeks, and Please Forgive Me is likely to reinvigorate sales of the album, which has sold more than 1.4 million copies in the U.S alone.
The rapper's last foray into filmmaking was last year (15), with a 14-minute clip called Jungle. In the short film, Drake is seen pondering the point of life and the price of fame, and it was intended as a preview for his mixtape If You're Reading This, It's Too Late, Billboard.com reports.
