Drake is set to have a big night at the Soul Train Music Awards after receiving 12 nominations.
The Started from the Bottom rapper has received nods in several categories, including Video of the Year for Hotline Bling, in which he will battle Beyonce, who has been nominated for eight awards, and Kanye West. His Work collaboration with rumored on-off girlfriend Rihanna has also been nominated.
The 29-year-old will also go up against Beyonce for Album/Mixtape of the Year. The Drunk in Love singer has been nominated for her sixth solo studio album Lemonade, while Drake has received a nod for Views. Bryson Tiller's Trapsoul, Kanye West's The Life Of Pablo, and Rihanna's Anti are also included in the category.
Drake, who recently scrapped a string of shows to rest an injured ankle, will also battle Beyonce for Song of the Year. He is nominated for Controlla, while her hit Formation has received a nod. Adele's Hello, Bryson Tiller's Don't, and Rihanna and Drake's Work complete the category.
Meanwhile, Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Fantasia, Jill Scott, and Rihanna have been nominated for Best R&B/Soul Female Artist, and Beyonce and Kendrick Lamar's Freedom, Chance The Rapper, Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz's No Problem, DJ Khaled and Drake's For Free, Fat Joe, Remy Ma, French Montana and Infared's All the Way Up, and Rihanna and Drake's Work are up for Best Collaboration.
Drake is also included in the Best Dance Performance category for Hotline Bling and Work, along with Beyonce's Formation, Kanye West's Fade, and Usher and Young Thug's No Limit.
The news of Drake's impressive nominations haul comes days after the rapper received a record-breaking 13 nods for the American Music Awards. He picked up nominations for Artist of the Year, Favorite Male Artist Pop/Rock, and Favorite Album Pop/Rock.
The Soul Train Music Awards will again be hosted by singer Erykah Badu and will take place in Las Vegas next month (Nov16).
