Music producer Dr. Luke has filed a second defamation lawsuit against Kesha's mother.
The Kemosabe label boss and former mentor to the Tik Tok singer hit Pebe Sebert with another lawsuit, alleging she has continued to defame him since her daughter accused him of abuse back in 2014, The Wrap reports.
The producer, real name Lukasz Gottwald, originally filed a defamation suit against Sebert in 2014, but added another on Wednesday (07Sep16).
The dispute was filed in a federal court in Tennessee, and a lawyer for Dr. Luke claimed Sebert was out to ruin his reputation.
"After we originally filed suit against Pebe Sebert, she continued to make outrageous, false and defamatory statements against Dr. Luke in her widespread media campaign to damage and smear his name," Christine Lepera told People.com on Friday (09Sep16).
"Pebe Sebert's lawyers flat out refused to allow us to add those statements to the existing case or to toll the statute of limitations on them - so we've been compelled to file an additional action," she added.
Sebert's lawyer Alex Little disputed Dr. Luke's lawsuit, and said it was merely an effort to sue a mother for "publicly supporting and believing her daughter about being raped."
"Mrs. Sebert looks forward to presenting her case to a jury as soon as possible," Little added. "When the evidence is made public, she expects the jury will conclude that all of her statements have been justified."
Dr. Luke's latest lawsuit against Kesha's mother alleges numerous offences, such as a tweet back in November, 2015, which read: "Kesha can't legally put out music unless she makes it under complete control of a man who raped her at 18."
He also cites an interview Sebert gave to Billboard back in March (16), in which she alleged Kesha was forced to continue working with Dr. Luke even after he apparently assaulted her.
"I wanted Kesha to come forward a long time ago and end this relationship with Dr. Luke immediately after the (alleged) rape. But if she wanted to have a shot at the music business, she had no choice but (to work with him)," she told the publication.
In 2014, Kesha sued her former mentor and producer, accusing the producer of raping and sexually, physically, emotionally and verbally abusing her. Dr. Luke vehemently denied the allegations, and is suing the pop star for defamation and breach of contract.
