Director Adam Rifkin is planning to develop a movie based on marshmallow candy treats, Peeps.
The Detroit Rock City filmmaker secured film and TV rights to the Easter basket staples from Pennsylvania-based candy company Just Born, according to Deadline.com.
Rifkin will pen the screenplay, which will be in the same vein as the animated mega-hit The Lego Movie, and features the sugary confections as they prepare to be judged at the annual Peeps diorama contest.
Originally created in 1952, the Just Born company earns $2 billion from the baby chick and bunny-shaped Peeps each year.
