Pop star Demi Lovato opened the 2014 Teen Choice Awards in winning style on Sunday (10Aug14) by taking home the first prize of the night.
The singer kicked off the Los Angeles ceremony from the Shrine Auditorium with an energetic performance of her track Really Don't Care with British collaborator Cher Lloyd, and she was back onstage moments later accepting the Choice Song of the Summer award for the hit tune.
She accepted the surfboard honor from event co-hosts Tyler Posey and Sarah Hyland and dedicated the accolade to her fans.
Lovato then ended her speech with an inspiring message for her devotees, saying, "I want you guys to know... every single one of you deserves to live a happy and healthy, incredible life, so be the best that you can be in everything because your dreams can come true if you work hard for them."
She wasn't the only one celebrating early - Ansel Elgort claimed double honors for his role in teen cancer drama The Fault In Our Stars, landing the titles for Choice Movie Actor - Drama and Choice Movie Breakout Star.
