David Beckham has heaped praise on his eldest son Brooklyn Beckham for the classy way the teenager broke up with his first love, actress Chloe Grace Moretz.
The 17-year-old aspiring photographer and the 19-year-old Kick-Ass star called it quits on their on-off two-year romance at the end of the summer (16), and Brooklyn has refused to speak publicly about the break-up.
His dad, retired soccer ace David, 41, believes his son's decision to stay silent was the right one, and proves he's becoming a very gracious young man.
"Always be respectful (we tell our kids) - and he is!" Beckham senior tells Extra of the guidance he has offered Brooklyn.
David shares four children with his wife Victoria, and although he is happy to discuss romantic matters with his eldest boy, he simply cannot bear the thought of doing the same thing when his youngest, five-year-old daughter Harper, reaches an age when she starts to date.
"I'm not even thinking about that at the moment," he laughed. "That's not even entering my mind... Harper dating! I'm like, 'Yeah, that’s never gonna happen'."
However, his wife Victoria might be more willing to lend Harper an ear on matters of the heart when she starts falling in love.
Back in September (16), the former Spice Girls singer-turned-fashion designer penned a letter to herself for Britain's Vogue magazine, recalling the first time she met her husband at a charity soccer match in 1997.
"Yes, love at first sight does exist," Victoria wrote in the letter, entitled What I Wish I'd Known.
She and David married in 1999, the same year their son Brooklyn was born.
