Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe is baffled by reports suggesting he is in the running to play a villain in the next James Bond movie, insisting the speculation is "totally untrue".
The British actor fears his offhand responses to questions about his dream film roles have led to stories linking him to the role of 007's nemesis in the next Bond film, and he can't believe how quickly the false rumors have picked up pace.
He says, "I think that's literally one of those things where... someone says, 'Would you ever play James Bond?' and I said, 'I don't think I'm really cast-able as James Bond, I'd rather be a villain'. That then eventually turns into, 'Daniel Radcliffe has been cast as the next Bond villain', which is totally untrue..."
Radcliffe has also dismissed rumors he is set to make his superhero debut as Batman's sidekick Robin in another movie project, but there is one comic book character he would really love to bring to life onscreen.
He adds, "I'd play (DC Comics superhero) Nightwing."
