Christie Brinkley's daughter Sailor Brinkley-Cook has defended herself against online trolls who targeted her with nasty comments on Instagram.
The pair posed for the snap on Tuesday (16Aug16), and the 62-year-old shared the image on Instagram, revealing her 18-year-old daughter was going to college.
Both mother and daughter wore matching outfits as Sailor moved out of the family home to attend Parsons School of Design in New York City. "Brinkley Moving Company! We Get the job done," Christie sweetly captioned the shot.
However, negative comments were soon left on the photo, with many comparing the mother and daughter. "Sorry but she looks nothing like her mother," wrote one. "She's average looking at best."
"I think Alexa (Sailor's 30-year-old sister) is actually prettier than Sailor," commented another.
Sailor took to Instagram on Wednesday (17Aug16), and posted a screenshot of the negative comments with a lengthy caption claiming she was done with online trolls.
"I usually never read the comment section under any stupid article about me.. And when i do i usually never take the comments to heart... But i am so fed up," she wrote.
"I believe comparison will kill you. Comparison to others is toxic and unhealthy," Sailor argued. "As long as I am happy healthy and kind to others why should i care if i am not as 'pretty' as someone else ? Let alone not as 'pretty' as my own blood relatives?"
Addressing a subject she's been "meaning to to touch on publicly for years", Sailor slammed those who criticised her for not being as successful as her famous mother.
"Yes i am so fortunate that my mother is my mother.. And she will always be an inspiration to me... But being constantly compared to her 50+ years of success at only 18 years old? And being told I could never amount to what she was and what she looks like? Doesn't feel great."
"I'm just a person figuring out what i want to do and what makes me happy. Leave me alone," she added. "Let's just f***in spread love you guys. And pleaseeeee stop trolling me."
