Actor Chris Hemsworth quit living in Hollywood and returned to his native Australia because California is too "dangerous" a place to raise children.
The Thor star lived in Los Angeles for several years while his movie career blossomed, but he eventually moved back to Australia for the sake of his three children as he is adamant Tinseltown will be no good for them.
Hemsworth, who has two-year-old daughter, India Rose, and twin sons Tristan and Sasha, 11 months, with wife Elsa Pataky, is determined to ensure they have the same experiences he had growing up in Melbourne.
He tells Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper, "It's not America that I'm trying to avoid because I love it, but I think Hollywood itself is a pretty dangerous place to live if you're at all impressionable or a young kid. I don't know that I would want my children growing up here, so that's what drew me back to Australia.
"I also just wanted my kids to have the same experiences that I had which I hold so valuable and so close to me. It seems like a stable landing for us and I love it. It's great and it's made me wonder how I could have been away that long."
In October (14), Hemsworth and Pataky splashed out $6.3 million on a new family home in Byron Bay, New South Wales.
