Chris Brown dropped new single What Would You Do? on Wednesday (31Aug16), less than 24 hours after he was released from jail.
The hit maker posted the track on his SoundClound account with a link on his Twitter alongside the caption: "MUSIC!!!!"
Chris appeared to be attempting to distract from the legal drama surrounding his arrest on Tuesday (30Aug16) following a lengthy stand-off with police, who had surrounded his Tarzana, California home following allegations he threatened model Baylee Curran with a gun .
Chris protested his innocence in a series of Instagram videos hours before his arrest, and after posting $250,000 bail, declared "the world will see" his version of events in due time.
Following the release of What Would You Do?, fans began speculating that the song could be referencing the arrest drama, with lyrics such as: "I've got some questions, some questions for you, I need some answers, answers from you, What do you do, fighting for your life when no one's on your side? I can't stand to lose you, see you're in too deep with no where to hide."
However, others insisted the timing was just coincidence.
What Would You Do? is taken from Chris' upcoming eighth studio album Heartbreak on a Full Moon, which he announced in May (16). The Forever star released the music video for its lead single, Grass Ain't Greener, last week (ends28Aug16).
After getting back home following his release from custody, Chris took to his Instagram page to share a video made by singer Ray J, who pledged his support for Chris and blasted the handling of the situation, and Chris wrote in the caption, "Real friends!!!!! The world will see!!! TRUST ME."
Chris is scheduled to appear at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center on 20 September (16) for arraignment.
