Child star Jackie Evancho has signed up to sing the U.S. National Anthem at President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration.
The opera singer, who became the youngest artist ever to score a platinum album at the age of 10, revealed she would be part of Trump's presidential celebrations in January (17) during an appearance on the Today show in America on Wednesday morning (14Dec16).
"I have recently been asked by the President-elect to perform the National Anthem for the swearing in ceremony at the inauguration and I am so excited," she said. "It's going to be awesome.
"To be able to sing for the office (sic), it's a great honor for me."
Jackie also performed for President Barack Obama at the National Christmas Tree lighting in 2010.
Trump is reportedly in talks to land another opera star, Andrea Bocelli, for his inauguration. Sources tell TMZ Trump's aides are trying to persuade the blind star to sing with Evancho at the gala on 20 January (17).
He performed with the 16-year-old in Italy last year (15).
