Actor Charlie Sheen has reportedly been sued by a second ex-girlfriend for exposing her to the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
The ex-Two and a Half Men star's former fiancee Scottine Ross filed suit against him in December, 2015, accusing Sheen of exposing her to the virus, while alleging he had abused her physically and emotionally throughout their relationship.
That suit is pending arbitration.
Now Variety reports a new lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Thursday (22Jun17) against a "confidential male defendant". Court papers reveal the defendant in question discovered his own HIV positive status in 2011 and also gave national television interviews discussing it in November, 2015 and June, 2016.
Charlie found out he was HIV positive in 2011, and revealed the news publicly during an interview with TV program The Today Show on 17 November, 2015. He gave an update on his health on the same show last June (16).
The plaintiff in the case is referred to as a "Russian emigre" named Jane Doe - the legal name given to an anonymous defendant.
The lawsuit reveals the pair met in September, 2015 and had a sexual relationship. Jane Doe alleged she repeatedly asked her new boyfriend if he had any sexually transmitted diseases and he responded that he was "fine".
It also suggests that although the couple used condoms initially, they later had unprotected oral sex and intercourse, before the unnamed male revealed his HIV status.
The plaintiff claims the defendant gave her two pills to protect her against the virus and that she sought immediate medical attention.
Charlie has yet to comment on the reports.
