Chance The Rapper and New Edition are to receive honors at the upcoming BET Awards.
The rapper has been announced as the recipient of the Humanitarian Award in recognition of his philanthropic efforts, which have included pledging to donate $1 million to public schools in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois and launching the New Chance Arts and Literature Fund, which supports school arts programs.
He isn't the only honoree - '80s R&B group New Edition will be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award, which has previously been awarded to the likes of Samuel L. Jackson, Smokey Robinson, and Lionel Richie.
They will receive their honors during the ceremony on 25 June (17) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The show, hosted by Leslie Jones, will also feature performances by Bruno Mars, Future, Migos, Trey Songz and Tamar Braxton.
