Britney Spears has missed out on a spot on the new Fast & Furious soundtrack after rapper Pitbull swapped her out for former Fifth Harmony star Camila Cabello.
The Cuban-American star has revealed his song Hey Ma was originally supposed to feature Britney Spears and Romeo Santos, but he recruited Camila and J Balvin instead.
"At first, it was me and Romeo Santos, Britney Spears was on the record (sic)," Pitbull says, "(The) Fast and Furious (producers) love the record and they brought on board J Balvin and Camila Cabello. So, it's been an interesting journey."
The song now plays as the introduction to the new movie, the first Hollywood blockbuster franchise to shoot in Cuba.
"It is an amazing honor," Pitbull beams.
And he's not ruling out releasing Britney's version of Hey Ma: "You never know, there might be a remix with Romeo and Britney in the future... It was an honor to be able to work with Britney.
"She was a great sport, she's been in the business for years. She said, 'Don't even worry about that. We'll use it for the remix, or we'll do another record together'."
The new movie, titled The Fate of the Furious, hits cinemas in April (17).
