Cameron Diaz has praised her husband Benji Madden for being “generous and giving” in a heartfelt message.
In honor of Benji’s band Good Charlotte releasing their long-awaited comeback album Youth Authority on Friday (15Jul16), the actress took to Instagram to celebrate the news with a sentimental note.
“One of my favorite things about being married, is how much pride I take in my husband,” Diaz, 43, captioned a video of her guitarist beau. “He makes me proud everyday. One day it might be how generous and giving, another how gentle and thoughtful. Or when he is fiercely protective of the people he loves and cares about.”
Cameron added that she is very proud of Benji’s “integrity” as a human being and that she felt constantly amazed by his continuing achievements, including his musical prowess.
“TODAY what I'm most proud of is his talent... his gift....,” before adding, “What makes me even more proud is that he has released it on his own independent label MDDN... And it is so damn GOOOOOOOOD...(sic).”
The Bad Teacher star married the musician at her home in California in January 2015, after a whirlwind 17-day engagement, having been introduced seven months earlier by her friend and now sister-in-law Nicole Richie, who is married to Benji’s twin brother Joel.
The post comes on the heels of a recent interview Benji, 37, in which he praised his wife, who recently released her wellbeing tome The Longevity Book, for being a forward-thinking star and advocate for women.
"I'm extremely proud of what she uses her platform for," The Voice Australia judge told Newsweek when asked about his famous spouse. "She's a modern day feminist – she wanted to change the conversation that's being had about women and ageing."
He continued to sing Cameron's praises later in the interview, saying that he appreciates how the blonde beauty uses her platform to promote positivity rather than products.
