Calvin Harris feels "blessed" to have worked with his ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift on his latest track.
The former couple split in June (16), with Calvin tweeting his admiration for his former girlfriend at the time. However, things turned bitter when Taylor was subsequently spotted kissing actor Tom Hiddleston, who she went on to date for three months.
Things went from bad to worse when Taylor's rep confirmed the singer was the person behind the songwriter pseudonym Nils Sjoberg, credited on Calvin and Rihanna's track This Is What You Came For. Calvin did little to hide his anger at how Taylor's involvement had been revealed, but now it seems the 32-year-old DJ has decided to bury the hatchet, after writing on social media he was honored to have worked with his ex on the tune.
On Friday (04Nov16), a Rihanna fan account tweeted This Is What You Came For was the only song in 2016 to be certified platinum twice in the U.K., and Calvin reposted the tweet, adding, "I am blessed to work with incredible artists @rihanna @taylorswift13 thank you!!! (sic)."
Calvin reportedly wanted Rihanna to record the vocals on the song as he and Taylor - who were still dating when they worked on the track - feared their relationship would overshadow the music if they released it together.
After Taylor's involvement in the track was revealed, a furious Calvin took to social media to fire back at his ex-girlfriend. "Amazing lyric writer and she smashed it as usual," the DJ wrote on Twitter at the time. "Hurtful to me at this point that her and her team would go so far out of their way to try and make ME look bad at this stage though."
He later deleted the tweets.
