Bruno Mars and songwriter/producer Mark Ronson are facing a lawsuit over their hit song Uptown Funk.
Rap group The Sequence released a track titled Funk You Up in 1979, and now the bandmembers have taken legal action, claiming Mars and Ronson's pop smash has "significant and substantially similar compositional elements" to their single.
The group is seeking a jury trial and unspecified damages, according to TMZ.
This isn't the first lawsuit Ronson has been hit with over the popular song - in September (17), the British producer was accused of stealing elements of Roger Troutman and Zapp's More Bounce to the Ounce for the award-winning Uptown Funk. Mars is not a defendant in that case.
