British actress Bonnie Wright attended a screening of Dead Poets Society on Friday (15Aug14) to honor Robin Williams and raise funds for charity.
The Good Will Hunting star died this week (begs11Aug14) and the subsequent reports about his mental health and battle with depression have sparked a debate over treatment of the illness.
Organizers of Secret Cinema hosted a screening of the 1989 drama in London and other U.K. locations to honor the actor on Friday, with profits from the event going to mental health awareness charity Mind.
Harry Potter star Wright wore a school uniform and gave a poetry reading before the screening began.
She later posted a picture online showing an array of candles which had been lit in the actor's honor, adding, "An emotional evening @secretcinema, such an honor to be part of it. Robin Williams you hero!"
Wright urged her fans to donate to Mind via text message, and the social media campaign had raised $17,000 by Saturday (16Aug14).
