Blake Shelton has reportedly settled his defamation lawsuit with editors at U.S. tabloid In Touch.
The country singer filed suit over an article published in the weekly magazine in 2015, which suggested he was battling an alcohol problem and headed for rehab. Reporters based the piece on a Mexican vacation the singer took with his manager and two friends, but Shelton maintained the two pals were a married couple and the suggestion he was having a wild time on holiday following the break up of his marriage to Miranda Lambert was way overblown.
In Touch bosses stood their ground against the defamation lawsuit, insisting they never suggested Blake was actually in rehab, but a judge ruled the case could go to trial in April, 2016.
However, a private, out-of-court settlement has since been reached by the two parties. Shelton, who is now dating Gwen Stefani, was originally seeking at least $2 million , but it is unclear how much he will receive.
