Actress Billie Lourd spent the first anniversary of her mother Carrie Fisher's death in Norway, viewing the Northern Lights in the late actress' honor.
Wednesday (27Dec17) marked one year since the Star Wars icon passed away, and her only child decided to spend it with her father, Bryan Lourd, on a family vacation.
The Scream Queens actress shared two photos of the natural light display on Instagram, and explained why they had chosen to spend the emotional day in Norway.
"My momby (her nickname for Carrie) had an otherworldly obsession with the northern lights, but I never got to see them with her," she wrote. "We journeyed to northern Norway to see if we might 'see the heavens lift up her dark skirts and flash her dazzling privates across unworthy irises.' And she did."
Adding a message for her tragic mom, she added, "I love you times infinity".
The Lourds, who spent Christmas in Norway, were also joined on the trip by Bryan's husband, Bruce Bozzi, his daughter Ava, and Billie's new boyfriend, actor Austen Rydell, reports People.com.
Carrie's Star Wars castmate Mark Hamill also remembered the actress in a touching tribute on Twitter on Wednesday.
"No one's ever really gone...," he captioned a series of old photos of the pair, using a line from the new Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Carrie's final film. He added the hashtags, "#AlwaysWithUs" and "#CarrieOnForever".
Billie also features in The Last Jedi, after making her big screen debut alongside her mother in 2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Carried went into cardiac arrest while on a flight from London to Los Angeles and passed away four days later, aged 60.
