A new Inspiration Awards gala named in honor of Amy Winehouse has been postponed until next year due to scheduling problems.
The tragic singer's collaborators, rapper Nas and crooner Tony Bennett, were due to be honored by officials at The Amy Winehouse Foundation at its inaugural Inspiration Awards and Gala in New York on 11 October, but the event will no longer take place as scheduled.
A statement issued to WENN reads: "Because of unforeseen scheduling problems transatlantically, it has been decided that the Amy Winehouse Foundation Gala scheduled for October 11, 2012 in the Waldorf Astoria, has been changed to March 21, 2013. Further information will be given at a later date."
The Rehab hitmaker's producer pal Salaam Remi was also set to be feted for inspiring "greatness in others" at the event, held to benefit the charity organization set up in the late star's memory.
Winehouse died from alcohol poisoning in July, 2011.
