I'm Oliver Trevena here at the Young Hollywood Studio with the gorgeous Gemma Arterton and Luke Evans, how are you?
I'm very well.
We're very, you just I have to say it 'cause that's what, since we're here, it should be Gemma Arterton 'cause that's my American name.
Oh, Gem to her friends.
People keep getting her name wrong.
You see.
I didn't 'cause I'm very professional.
Because you're British. You should be shocked. Let's talk about Tamara Drewe, the movie. It's about you having a dodgy nose.
Yeah.
And then getting rid of your dodgy nose.
Yeah. I have a dodgy nose at the beginning. We had to have this scene where we kissed passionately and I had this big nose. We kept bashing faces. It's like that. It's about this rural countryside in England. Middle class. Everything looks very sparkly and beautiful and idyllic. But actually it's all about sex and lies and deceit. And it's a comedy. It's a black comedy so and it's very very clever.
You play the hunky gardener.
I do. Yeah. Little stubble. I've got my clothes on today for a change. Thanks for not showing me. The opening shot of the film is is ridiculous, is what it is.
Without his clothes on.
No.
Talking about like less clothes. I have seen a couple of pics. I probably don't want to mention it but you're in them little pants.
Oh, yeah. Your little daisy duke shorts.
You've talked about that once, have you?
No one's ever asked me about that.
Everyone's been mentioning you in them pants but.
You can't, can you. I mean let's be honest. I'm actually only wearing those shorts for about three or four seconds. They're ridiculously short. And it's meant to be sort of an attention grabbing moment.
It worked, yeah. It works. I mean it's jaw dropping. Are you a fan of the book before?
I'd never heard of it. I'd never seen the comic strip. I don't read newspapers very often. I just check the news on the internet.
So you both still live back in England, right?
We do.
Um, how do you like Hollywood?
It's an a a fascinating place. Even today we were driving to the studio and there's a transy walking by at like 8:00 in the morning.
love it.
It was you. It was you. That's why you've got the short hair so the wig's going on easier.
What else is going on in your world?
I'm halfway through playing Aramis in the Three Musketeers.
Oh, yeah.
The 3D version of the Three Musketeers in Germany.
Wow. It's got the yeah. This isn't choice by the way. You look like a musketeer.
He does, doesn't he.
You perfectly fit. Once again, not your talent, your.
Next year I'm making approximately maybe four movies. One for sure that's absolutely going and then I'm just waiting for the dates to come through on some but I don't like to say beforehand. It's kind of.
Yeah. Approximately four movies.
Better to say approximately 'cause it could be approximately four movies. It could be one.
It could be one.
Round about four.
Round about four. I'm going to walk my dog later. That's what I'm going to do.
Well, that's a nice life, isn't it. Nice. What dog do you have?
Probably a English bulldog. A miniature English bulldog.
You a miniature. That's what I was going to get. Genetically modified. I have a genetically modified Shar Pei. A miniature Shar Pei. They're like bulldogs but like.
Well, that was my moment where you were shooting approximately four movies, I said I had a dog and now you've got a dog so I'm trying to think of something that I'm doing that you're not doing.
You're living in LA. You're living in LA. You're living the dream. You're getting the sun tan. You're just living in it.
Yeah. We just live in rainy little London.
Yeah. I'm just. I'm about to cry. So we're going to wrap this up because I'm getting home sick. Yeah, people. Oh, wow. But it's been lovely having you. And you.
Thank you for having us.
You're looking forward to the Musketeers. Yeah. Me too. And approximately four movies. I'm glad we got all that info out. That was really good. Really entertaining. Stay tuned for approximately four movies next year.
