All the adults wanted to dance, and the entire dance floor was filled with all these kids and they're like spinning. They knocked over a speaker.
What's up, guys? Nicki Novack here in the Young Hollywood studio with the lovely Shannon Dody. How's it going?
It's going good. How are you?
So good to have you here.
Good to be here. This place is so cool. I feel like you guys are just going to take over the world at this point.
We're hoping to. That's the plan. I can see that. I can see that. It's like mission control in here.
That's actually a really good point. No one's ever said that before, but it is. It's like a covert operation because we're in a hotel and people don't know.
It is very covert.
Well, I'm all about the CIA at this point as we were talking about earlier. My father-in-law and Positive, he's CIA. Um, he used to work for a tire company. Okay. Uh, that moved him from all over the place from Argentina to Mexico and then to Ohio. When you ask him about it, he doesn't really like to talk about it.
So, let's talk about Kurt. Oh, right. The son of uh the CIA of your husband. So, I read something that when you met him, you knew instantly, this is the man I'm going to spend the rest of my life with.
I connected instantly, looked at him. He turned, looked at me, and we both had this pause.
So, he's a photographer, and he was shooting you for something.
And he was shooting me for a cover of uh Radar magazine.
I bet the pictures were awesome.
They were pretty great. They were pretty amazing. And from there, now you are on a show together. Tim, did I tell you the wedding date? It's October 15th. That's the point. It's right around the corner. Why don't we find somebody that can help us plan it? I mean, they have event planners. No, I got I don't I I got this. You think you can do all of this on your own? I've directed TV shows. Honestly, how hard can a wedding be? Shannon says, but it's Shannon says. That's right. It's not Kurt says.
Well, I think it's always what the woman says. It's Isn't it?
Yeah, it kind of has to be. It's basically the months and the the planning. It's the wedding planning. It's it's leading up to the wedding. So, how is it for you? Because I've heard that you don't watch yourself on TV. You've never watched yourself. Have you watched any episodes of any of because you're such an icon in in the TV world?
Um, I have watched this show mainly because it's so horrifying to think that we did a reality show. And uh that our lives are sort of out there and we're being judged for actually being us. Sometimes I can come across very abrasive. And I think I'm putting it forth in such a really nice, calm manner. Then you see yourself and you're like, Right. I'm like, no. Oh my god. I can't believe I just said that to you.
what ensues fights? Cuz if you see, cuz you know how they say there's certain people that are ugly criers? I'm an ugly crier. So when you see yourself fighting, it's probably the same thing, like
It is. You're like it's it's being an ugly fighter. And Kurt has actually like looked at me a bunch of times and been like, God, like, no wonder why you got mad at me. Like, I come off as just like I don't care and I'm so cavalier and I'm a little sarcastic towards you. I'm like, I know. See. So it's like the best therapy in the world. I think now we're both hooked. Like, we Sunday nights we're there going like,
Watching yourself.
Oh, yeah. We make notes. I'm like, this is what you did. This is what you did that I don't like. She's having a hot flash. She's having anxiety. Okay. Do you have a paper bag? There you have the best one liners. It's great. You could do a spin-off like stand-up comedy or whatever it is.
So we have a little game for you.
Oh, boy. I love games.
Well, it's more like your thoughts on things. It's it's the Shannon says wedding do's and don'ts now that you're a wedding expert. Nice. First of all, do or do you not allow children to the wedding? There's a reason I'm asking this. Cuz I know you didn't want to allow children at your wedding at first. You do. Okay. That's a do. You do allow children at your wedding. You ended up having them at your wedding.
You know, yeah, that was another one of those moments that you look back and you're like, I cannot believe I said something so stupid and so asinine. But I get it. I have to be honest with you. Do get it. I get it. Sometimes it's annoying. When they're not your own kids. I'm sorry. It was based off of I'd just gone to a friend's wedding and it was literally like we all the adults wanted to dance and the entire dance floor was filled with all these kids and they're like spinning. They knocked over a speaker. They knocked each other down and it's like you're climbing over children just to try to dance. And let's face it. You can't elbow them out of the way like you do adults. You have to.
Well, I mean, you can, but you might get in trouble. So, during the ceremony, when you are named man and wife. Is it a do or don't to go for a full make out?
Oh my god, it's a don't. It's such a don't.
Um, do or don't putting ridiculously expensive items on your registry.
That's a big don't for me. Um, I I I registered at two different places and the stuff was absolutely phenomenal. And I'm like, okay, I'm definitely registering for this. And I'm like, how much is it? One fork was $900. One fork. I immediately took it off because I'm like, that's I wouldn't even eat with it. What to get together and share and buy you a fork. It's also just rude to think that somebody would spend $900 on your wedding.
And last but not least, if you are a best man or maid of honor going back and borrowing the bridal suite to fool around in.
It's a don't. Unless you're sure you're not going to get caught. That's a don't. So it's basically by the way. You know, it's just like, oh my god, can you imagine being the bride and the groom and you're all like excited and you're like, oh, you know, our first night together as man and wife and the bed's all like messed up and gross.
So basically you're saying don't get caught. Like be be a CIA agent if you're going to do it, be crafty. Just call my father-in-law for some tips. I love it. Thank you so much for coming. This was fun.
This was a blast. This was fun.
