How's the experience?

Awesome, beautiful place.

Um, we live in Santa Monica right now.

We love flying down there.

It's like less than a two-hour flight.

You can't beat the weather, especially right now cuz in LA it's kind of sketchy, and not really feeling it.

It's pissing me off.

Oh, yeah.

I came here uh to support uh one of my ex-teammates, but a really good friend.

We've been good friends for a long time, Tedrick Ellis, who put this on.

This weekend, what are you participating in?

The fishing, you doing the golfing?

Um, I mean, I'm from Arizona.

I've been golfing my whole life.

Okay, so you're pro then.

Is that what you're saying?

No, I I just have a a disconnect with golfing.

Uh when I grew up, we uh we weren't allowed to use the golf carts, so we uh we had to walk all 18.

Yes, so I'm over golfing.

That's why you're always in shape, though.

That's that's one way to look at it.

I'm gonna be in the fishing tournament.

You know, I'm gonna try something different than the golf.

You know, we have golfing tournaments uh throughout throughout the year all the time.

So fishing is something different, but I feel like it's tranquil to be on the water.

I wanna try.

I heard this golf course is one of the best in the world, so I can't I can't pass up that opportunity, you know.

I'm a competitor.

I'm I'm gonna be ready to have some fun and and and get that trophy or whatever is the reward.

Who who's your biggest competitor on the on the links?

Like, who do you think's gonna come out with like, all right, this is someone I'm competing with.

You know, Marshall Marshall Faulk's a pretty good stick.

I just started like three weeks ago.

Well, I'm a new golfer.

So I'm probably about

So he's teaching you the ropes.

I'm probably about a solid two years in.

two and a half years in to golf.

Pretty much so.

It's like It's like I'm like Dustin Johnson and then he's like a a middle school golfer right now.

That's like That's how big it is.

Ask him who can you he can't even hit off the driver.

My driving game is nice.

I'm probably gonna win longest drive this weekend.

You know, so even if I don't catch anything, it'll be fun.

I you know, I have all year forever to golf, but it's not every day you get to fish in Cabo.

So I'm excited about that.

last, are you trying to are you trying to take that top spot?

Absolutely.

You know, it's only one thing in life you're supposed to do, and that's win.

How does it feel to be around players, you know, present and past, who are some of these guys are legends.

a lot of people, it's like a fraternity in a lot of ways, or sorority if you're a woman.

Especially, you know, you can relate in a lot of different ways, both on and off the field, and those experiences that, you know, it's important to share with each other and grow.

to see some of these young guys, and see all these guys now, Young Hollywood develop and um, you know, some of these guys now are gonna pass the torch to the next generation of guys.

Great opportunity for you to like pick brains and just kinda figure out the transition outside the NFL.

I've been in coming to 10 years now, so I'm trying to figure out uh how these guys success outside of the field.

I mean, I grew up watching some of them.

I grew up having some of them coming to the living room.

Um, it's all love my way.

The NFL is like a brotherhood.

It's like a fraternity.

So anytime you get together with former NFL players and current, it's always good, man.

You you tell war stories.

try to uh offer some experience when I can to the young guys cuz I think there's definitely a level to being a professional athlete on and off the field that comes along with the territory, right?

You know, for me, when I was a rookie, I had a guy, Deuce McAllister, who helped really groom me and help bring me into the league and then having vets like Drew Brees, who I got a chance to really watch and see how they handled the on and off the field, the business side of football, uh because it's not just about football, man.

It's just a lot more things that go into it.

So you have someone like coming up who's on the rise, whether it's a quarterback, running back, receiver.

a couple of people.

Um, I would say Jameis Winston in Tampa Bay.

Um, I would watch for him.

You see the steady growth as far as him as a quarterback and being a mature leader.

And also I like Carson Wentz.

If he gets some wide receiver help there in Philadelphia.

I can see him, yes, I can see him being an outstanding player.

Talk to me about that experience just learning behind Aaron Rodgers.

Unbelievable experience.

Uh, awesome opportunity.

It's a blessing.

Um, I'm just really enjoying it.

You know, I'm taking my time and just uh soaking in everything I can and uh when my number's called, it'll be called, and I'll be ready.

As being a current player, there's gonna be someone on the opposite field of you.

What What's that relationship when like you see him out at an event like this?

You're like, hey, man, I know we competed real hard.
