Welcome to Young Hollywood. com.
Hey Young Hollywood, it's Michelle Hule. I'm here on the music video set for Anya's single Candy.
song from Germany. It's really catchy. It's almost like a fantasy. The song is very playful. We got lots of choreography, lots of dancing stuff going on, so very groovy.
Now, I see that there's a beautiful car behind us and we've got some guys dressed as mechanics. What's the concept of that?
Guys are going to do like mechanics and oily bodies and I'm going to walk around them acting bossy and very commanding.
So this is kind of your mechanic outfit here.
outfit like commanding, you know.
Can you explain the sound of your music, what you would explain your fans?
is like R&B, pop. I've been working with very famous producers like Randy Jackson from American Idol, Teddy Teddy Riley, the king, so I'm very blessed and I'm lucky that I had an opportunity to work with them all.
Can you tell me who your musical influences were growing up in Russia?
Well, my first musical influence was was Britney Spears. Yeah, I was about like 12 years old and I used to know every song of her and I always wanted to be a performer and I want always wanted to entertain and to be a singer like her.
You audition for Joe Simpson. Do you remember how you felt that moment when you got to audition for him?
Oh my god, I was so nervous at first. it all started in Russia when I met my producer Ole. And we recorded a demo tape, like a demo material and sent it to Joe and Joe listened to it and finally he invited us to LA.
You have your reputation for doing some amazing things with your artist, your daughters. They've done really well. What do you see for the future of Anya?
You know, one of the exciting things for me is doing things that have never been done before. And you know, no artist from Russia has ever broken first in the United States. So hopefully with Anya we're going to be doing that. The very first time an artist comes here. And you know, for me it's um she is the perfect American story. She's the perfect uh story of what our country was built on. A girl with a dream comes to America to see that dream happen. I'm really excited about being a part of the dream.
Let's talk a little bit about your single Nightlife. It's fun, it's clubby, and you collaborated with David Banner on that. How was that for you?
I love David Banner. When Joe told me that I'm going to do like a collaboration with him, I didn't believe it at first. So, it's such a wonderful experience.
Hey Young Hollywood, this is Anya. Thanks for hanging out with me on the set of my new music video Candy.
