Hey guys, it's Tracy Barac here in the Young Hollywood studio with Mackenzie Ziegler.
Hi.
I'm so happy you're here by the way, because first of all, we've had your sister here twice and I'm like, oh my gosh, Mackenzie has got to come here now. So finally, you're here.
Yeah, I'm so excited.
Um, and I was telling you earlier, I was like literally stalking her YouTube channel and I spent, I like binge-watched it. Like you are the cutest
Thank you.
person ever. Thank you. When were you first dancing? Like, how old were, how old were you?
I started dancing when I was three. So, a long time ago.
Did you ever have like a favorite like genre that you loved dancing? You still do?
Yeah. Mhm. I love hip-hop and contemporary, jazz, all of those, but my favorite is probably jazz.
Did you always know you were also like extremely talented as a singer?
I started doing voice lessons when I was six and then, I loved it. So when I was eight, I came out with an album and then
How old were you? You were eight? Yes. She came out with a full album when she was eight years old. Like what can you not do? Your music career is like, you're killing it right now.
Thank you.
Um, you were just in the in the UK on your day and night tour. So you collabed with Johnny Orlando. You guys are the cutest. I love the song.
Thank you.
How was that whole experience?
It was actually so much fun getting to tour with like my best friends and it was so amazing meeting everyone there and I love the UK. It's so awesome there. We got to stay at Hogwarts, like the hotel like where they filmed the top well, of like the Quidditch game. So I was like kind of freaking out cuz I love Harry Potter, but.
That's like a dream. I feel like that would be like a dream come true. Your fans are so amazing by the way. You have the best fan base. Like what was it like just like being in person and like seeing them?
It was all so fun and so awesome. I mean, I got to meet some of my internet friends, like fans that have been fans like from the beginning. So it was really cool meeting them. A lot of fans are actually from the UK, not America, which is actually pretty surprising, but it was so much fun. I love touring.
What are some of your go-to rules to life?
Ooh. Um, I would say never let people tell you like what to be because I know that I've had some people in my life tell me that I need to, I need to be like my sister or I'm fat or stuff like that and yeah, and I kind of just blocked them out and my sister really helped me with that. So, I definitely thank my sister for that. She's awesome.
And then I also saw that you released a music video. Yeah. Monsters aka haters. Yes. Um, I the first like few seconds, I was like terrified. I was like, what is about to happen? I was a little scared.
I was like, I feel like I'm going to scare kids with this video, because it was trying to be more like the Stranger Things, but I was like, I feel like it's going to scare some kids, but I mean, it gets better once you get
No, it gets better once you figure it out and you're like, okay, I don't need to be that scared. So what is like the message behind that song that you want to tell your fans?
I would say it's mostly about haters, obviously, and them trying to bring you down, but you just really need to block them out. I mean, I have gotten so much hate in the past two years for like the stupidest things. Like,
How can you hate on? You're like the sweetest girl. I don't. People are so you guys, always be nice, spread love, spread positivity.
Yeah, but I really think you don't really need to listen to them because they're just people bored in their room. Like they're probably 10-year-olds just on their phone and they're like, oh, I want to, I want to comment, I want to get attention. They all just want to get attention.
Well, thanks so much for coming and hanging out.
Thank you for having me.
And don't forget to go check out her day and night tour, Johnny Orlando. It's going to be off the hook. I can already tell you.
Thank you.
