Laila Ali & Nick Stars Keep Motivated at KCSAs

What's up guys? Leslie Robbins here for Young Hollywood at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Sports Awards. What kind of advice would you pass down to people who want to be in your shoes?

I think that um if you want to be successful in life, you got to find something that you're passionate about, because no matter what it is you want to do, you're going to hit roadblocks. There's going to be moments where it gets hard and if it's not something you really have your heart in, you're going to want to quit. But um when you have your heart in it, you believe in yourself, you're passionate, it'll make you keep going and you know, they have the 10,000 hour rule. You never see what happens behind the scenes. All this work that goes into becoming successful. So be prepared to work hard.

What keeps me a big kid? You know, hanging out, playing, listening to all the good music. I'm on a new show called Game Shakers, so it's a lot of kids on the set. So they they keep me right. I I know all the new dance moves and all of that. Hey! Hey! Hey! I don't know what that is, but yeah, some of that.

Who are you choosing? Team-wise? Player-wise?

This is pretty cool. So, I'm kind of like, I'm keeping it subdued right now. I don't want to act like I'm like a big fan. Sean, this gentleman, this Nickelodeon star would love to meet you. And I was excited that you were here. And she said, you know, I'm going to interrupt. And I was like, don't do that, you're going to embarrass the hell out of me. And so she did and here I am. Now we're both embarrassed.

Who would you love to see slime tonight? Who's my team? Who's my player?

Oh God. There's so many good ones. Um gosh. I I I can't I don't know if I can choose. I look like the New York Giants. I guess got to rep back in New York. And uh and then team player, I'll I want to say something different. Beyonce, 'cause dancing is a sport, right?

If you could slime anyone in your world, who would it be and tell me why?

Uh Adrian Beltre. Because he he'd get mad and I'd love it.

You want to see him get mad, really?

Yeah, he's good 'cause he's he's never really mad. He's always having so much fun, so whenever he gets mad, it's funny.

Tell me what keeps you motivated.

You know, what keeps me motivated, you know, through this whole experience being born without legs. I've been able to travel to different hospitals and all around the world. I went down to actually to Haiti to experience with the children down after the earthquake with other AMPTs and and I look at my situation, even though I am born without legs, you know, I still have it good. You know, I still have prosthetic legs. You know, I know deep down inside it could be way worse. So I wake up each and every day and I'm thankful for what I have. I worry about my ability and not my disability. And I you know, I'm I'm walking today, I'm alive today. I can put a smile on my face. And that's what keeps me going when you kind of put that perspective and look at the glass half full instead of half empty. It's just changes everything about your whole outlook on life.
