And I like to I'd like to always know what's in someone's pockets. What's in your pockets at the moment?
I've got the wallet. Okay, that's not weird. Come on. Um a keyring shamelessly promoting. Look at this. My film Darkest Hour comes out on Christmas Day. Go and see it on Christmas day. That's not a subtle plug. What is? Just in case you never know when there's going to be another.
I'm Oliver here at Young Hollywood Studio. It's fellow Brit. Hello. How are you? Max? Thanks for stopping in.
Thanks for having me. Lovely.
I love him. Got a lot of love for Max. Really, really like it.
Why why would you say that when I'm saying something so
Because you're being sarcastic.
I wasn't. No. That was from the heart. I genuinely love you and I think you're great. Um obviously carrying eating your nuts. I'm gonna eat my nuts.
loves almonds. Any fans out there that want to send him something, send him your nuts.
I love nuts.
You love nuts. Anyway, obviously Hollywood's tough but you're doing very well and it. Ides of March. I'll do or say anything if I believe in it, but I have to believe in the cause. Is is the film about like the revenge and the naughtiness of politics really? I probably abbreviated a bit there but naughtiness.
naughtiness. There's some naughtiness in it. There's a lot of naughtiness in it. Um I mean I'd like to think it's not really about politics. It's just politics is kind of a fun thing to play with. Play with is a fun background, you know backdrop that George knows a lot about it. It makes it more dramatic. But it's really just about one man dealing with his ambition.
And you worked with George before on Syriana.
I did a long time ago. Yeah.
Playing his son.
Playing his son. Yeah, it was very nice of him to he's very nice to me. Obviously. He's very nice to me.
How is it working with him?
It's dreamlike. I mean as you know no matter how long you do. I've been doing this for nearly 10 years and it's still you know he's still George Clooney. He's still weird. It's still a wow moment. And it's still cool. Um he's great. He's everything you want him to be. I mean I find that the the better people are the more talented they are the nicer they are.
I like to I like to always know what's in someone's pockets. What's in your pockets at the moment? Show me empty your pockets, Max.
got some weird bit in my pocket now. I've got the wallet. Okay, that's not weird. Come on.
What's in the wallet? Can I look in your wallet?
No, I don't look in my wallet. No, no, please don't look in my wallet. It'll be really embarrassing with there. Oh, I've got um a keyring shamelessly promoting. Look at this. My film Darkest Hour comes out on Christmas Day. Go and see it on Christmas Day. That's not a subtle plug. What is? Just in case you never know when there's going to be an opportunity.
You never know when there's an opportunity. To sell my soul. And you filmed that in Russia?
Filmed that in Russia.
How was that? What we carry on talking while emptying your pockets?
A lollipop or an Olli pop as I call them. All right. Like how I did that with my name. Eat my Olli pop. This is like a special lollipop with um vitamins in it.
I thought you're going to say superpowers or something. Um let's quickly mention the Darkest Hour. That was in Russia. You went to Comic Con recently for.
Yes, we did which was really fun. My first time going is kind of crazy over there. Have you been?
Mental. Mental. Yeah. Lots of girls wearing no clothes and guys wearing lots of clothes. I didn't say that you see that.
There was. I only saw the guys wearing lots of clothes.
Yeah, weird. Well, in that case, I will go back next year. What's the weirdest thing you've ever bought souvenir of a movie or TV show? The strangest thing.
You know what I got today? It was my birthday the other day and I got a signed I got a signed DVD copy of the Justin Bieber DVD.
Did you really?
From Justin Bieber.
Did you really? Yeah. That's won every competition in my eyes. Yeah. Have you got fever?
probably the coolest present I've ever gotten.
Have you got fever? Well, I saw his documentary. I thought the documentary was kind of amazing. Right. Um he's a fascinating person. Just like there's a there's a scene. I don't know if you guys have seen it but there's a scene in the film. Well, you really do know at the very beginning. And he's like he's like a fetus. He's like a baby and he's playing a guitar better than I can play a guitar after 26 years of practice. Yeah. He's pretty crazy. Super something. Well, I didn't think I'd be sitting down on the sofa with you and pulling out lollipops eating nuts and talking about Justin Bieber. That wasn't the way that I thought this goes but this will go but we don't know, do we, Max?
I can't believe that's how it's being summed up.
