Diem Brown: Battling Her Ex for a Great Cause

About this video
There's more to Diem Brown than most reality TV stars! The "Challenge: Battle of the Exes" contestant stops by the Studio to tell us all about the difficult circumstances of the show -- that is, having to team up with her ex in order to win the game -- but she has a greater cause that she is fighting for! An ovarian cancer survivor, Diem started a charity called MedGift, which is essentially a patient gift registry for other ailing folks struggling to get by. We love a gal with spunk! If you'd like to help out, visit MedGift.com. Hosted by Oliver Trevena.

No. I was just about to say you've got balls but obviously what what do they what do they say when a woman's really brave? You got brains. No, they don't. That doesn't make you brave. What do they say? For men it's like you got balls. What do they say for women? You got spun. You got spun. I like that. I'm Oliver T here at the Young Hollywood Studio with DM Brown. How are you?
Good, how are you?
Just thinking what a lovely name that is, isn't it? DM. Thank you very much. It sounds like I don't know it sounds like maybe a perfume.
Oh, it could be. You thought about doing your own perfume?
I don't know if that's my niche. Maybe that's that's another reason to do your own perfume. Okay, need to I'll try. Really? You smell fine.
Oh thank you.
You do. Thank you. All right. Moving on from that, the challenge Battle of the Xs. Insane. Looks a bit yeah, looks a bit insane, doesn't it? It's crazy. It's absolutely crazy. I don't know about you, but getting paired with your ex and then having to compete with them and trust them over like 50 feet high in the air isn't something you ever really want to do.
No. I was just about to say you've got balls, but obviously what what do they what do they say when a woman's really brave? You got brains. No, they don't. That doesn't make you brave. What do they say? For men it's like you got balls. What do they say for women? You got spun. You got spun. I like that.
Okay.
Every single fear you have whatsoever they put right in front of your face. And then somehow you have to be with your partner to overcome that fear. And this is someone for me that I haven't seen in three years.
Right. And This is CT.
Yes, this is CT and uh at this point I is kind of nerve racking to kind of
And he's a bit of a loose cannon as well, wasn't he? Sometimes.
Okay. I'm just stabilizing us over here. It's going to take one second. Grab my vest, please. Here now. If you yell at me, I am going to stop moving. If you piss me off, I'm not going to do anything. anger management. I think that's the only thing he should be doing. It's hard. It's hard you know, you kind of when you break up with somebody, you kind of put them aside, and you don't really think about it.
Right. We put Xs in a box, don't you?
Put them in a box. Seal it up. Seal it up, tape it up. Put it under your bed and you're done. Right. This you're kind of reopening every bandaid and all those old wounds are you know kind of pussy and sore, you know.
A lot of them the you know, road rules and real world and all that. You're very different to a lot of the people on it, aren't you? You're actually doing a lot of good. You're not just like getting in the hot tub and you know, getting it on. I know my dad's watching the show, so I'm very aware. That still doesn't bother most people, which is surprising. And moving on to more positive things. You have some you work do amazing charity stuff. I looked at your website. Med gift.
Yeah, thank you.
This is brilliant. Tell us about that.
Um I had ovarian cancer and it was, you know, the size of a two liter Coke bottle to my. Had it removed and you know, I need to figure out a way to help patients while they're going through something because across in Georgia, I can help my girlfriend getting married with a wedding registry. Same thing with having a baby, baby registry. For patients there was no kind of registry to help them while they're sick. So I created the first ever patient gift registry. So people can put their medical bills on there. They can ask for wigs, wheelchairs, groceries, even like can you help me get to the hospital, can you help me watch my dog while I'm in treatment? So basically trying to eliminate any stress in a patient's life so they can focus on just getting better. If you look on my arm on every challenge, I'm wearing Med gift on my arm. Like and all the like any money I win from the show goes directly to the patients on Med gift. I'm not taking a dime. Like it's there.
She's amazing. She's amazing. Thank you thank you for coming to the Young Hollywood Studio. Pleasure and we're looking forward to uh more injuries and seeing lots of uh death defying stuff on the challenge. Exactly. Watch it. Even just for DM alone.
