Let me see them. It's okay. I thought you had a reverse French manicure. What's up guys? Nikki Novac here for YHN. And in this episode of celebrity Trend Report, we are here with the King of Fashion. Carson Kressley.

Hi. Hi, thanks for having me.

First of all, if we're going to talk fashion, we need to point out your shoes.

Oh my god, my shoes. I've already worn these once on TV, but they were too expensive not to wear more than a hundred times.

Yes. Can we reveal the bottom?

So I am wearing them everywhere. And they have the red Louboutin bottoms and I was going to not wear these ever on a non-carpeted surface. I know. And then you just occasionally there's a sidewalk or concrete and you can't be like, help me. Um, so I just

Well, you know you can have the red redone.

Can you? Well, because people do it, they have they get fake ones. Fake ones. I know, but that is illegal.

Okay. Do you are you in favor of like the fake bags, the fake anything or no?

No. No. Okay. So you should save up to get the real things. I I think Yeah, I think um that's what makes it part of it is what makes it special because like even like these were like a lot of money and I was just like, oh, I don't really, you know, but occasionally, like if there's something that you long for and I saved up my like money from a project and I was just like, it was like I had done a paper route for the summer. It was per diem for another show. But I was just like

Oh, you saved your

I saved my per diem and I was just like, I'm going to buy these with cash and then I know that I can afford them. But there are so many I think the great thing about fashion right now and I think it's one of the bright sides of maybe our bad economy is that everything has to be more affordable and designers from the top tier all the way down to Target, Marshalls and Zara and H&M are doing really great things for affordable prices.

Are you good at sales shopping? Because I'm terrible.

I'm very good at it.

So you can, you can dig, you can find like diamonds in the rough.

I don't love the digging. I love um outlet malls.

I'm just curious, when you go to these things and you're shopping, do you get mobbed by people?

Occasionally.

Okay. I was going to say, you probably can't.

There are the occasional confused Japanese tourist. Um and I was once like at the Todd's Outlet in Woodbury Commons. And a bunch of um Japanese um tourists came up and they said, oh, pink savior. And I was like, what? Um and um I didn't realize that in Japan, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, there was no like literal translation. So there it's called Pink Saviors. I love it.

Neon.

Neon. I like touches of neon. I think we learned our lesson in the 80s where it was the full on like juice life t-shirts and the neon pants and you just look like a radioactive skittle. Um So, I think now like you could do like a beautiful like gray dress and maybe just do like a touch of like a neon yellow belt and it looks really chic. It will go into fall. It's not done. I don't think it's done quite yet. It works much better in summer cuz it's a hot punch. Yeah. So you want to just kind of save those hot colors for summer, I think.

But no, I don't like nail art. I don't think a nail is the place to put art. You know, like if there's like a seagull or some hearts or like your boyfriend's name. Call me crazy. Um or just call me maybe. Um I just don't think you should put pictures on your nails.

Okay, so let's talk about those trends that are coming out. Let's talk about clothes.

Yeah. What is so so it's sort of those more I think um we've been so um inundated with color for spring and summer. It was all about color blocking and the brights and the coral and the fuchsia. Um and I think we're still going to see a lot of color into fall and holiday. I I do a collection for Shop NBC. And I know. We have been doing like really, really rich like beautiful deep bright purple and beautiful like almost like an emerald kind of teal. Um so I think color is still going to be a huge trend.

Okay, and now this is right up your alley with Dancing with the Stars. Spray tanning. Spray tanning. Do or don't at this point.

You can really If you're not on dancing with the stars. If you're not on Dancing with the Stars, I think it's a great alternative to, you know, exposing yourself to the sun which we know is dangerous and makes you look older. Um you have to be really careful that you use a good product. And you don't want to look orange or umpaloompa-y. So it's really about like finding the right place for you.

I had spikes written down but we know that there is talking about.

Spikes are still a big trend. Um and I've seen tons of stuff for fall. It's going to keep going. embellished with spikes.

Okay, so one fashion item that every woman needs for fall and then one for men.

Well, like, yeah, my whole thing is that you should buy things that you love and things that are kind of classic and then you should pepper it with great kind of trend accessories. Okay. So maybe like a great, you know, suede bag in like a purple or a teal would be great. I also think like for fall, I think one of the greatest investment pieces is a great piece of outerwear. Anywhere else like your coat is the thing that you wear almost every day all fall and winter long. So that's the thing that you should really, you know, invest in and make sure it's beautiful and

Right, you wear it every day.

and flattering, yeah.

Well, before we finish, I would love to hear your best dressed male and female of the year.

I always love Gwyneth Paltrow and I think her Oscar look this year is like the one that stands out in my mind. It wasn't even that it was the most gorgeous. It was just, it was the most gorgeous. It was the most different. It was the most flattering. It made the biggest statement. And there are people that are fantastic like Sarah Jessica Parker who rock all kinds of amazing clothes.

Yeah, and male?

Male. Is that tough to choose? Um, probably Brian. Would you take your shirt off, Brian, for a moment? Cameron Diaz. Um, male. Um, I had a really good answer for this. You know who's really cute and um dresses really well is Tom Brady. Oh. Right. Don't even get me started on Tom Brady. You'll rock a great haircut. I just saw him in a picture he had like a newsboy cap on and like, he looked gayer than I did. And I was like, if he can pull it off, anyone can. But he's a great example for like kind of like tough straight guys out there like, you can be a Super Bowl winning like football player and still have fun with clothing. Like you don't have to be afraid to like look good.
