What up, y'all, from Hollywood? I am here with a very beautiful, super yummy Ms. Candy Johnson.
I love you, Ruba. I love you so much.
I love you more. I love your hair. I love everything. We should swap hair.
Oh, we could totally do that. Thank you so much for that.
But for everyone, please peep the look. Look at your looks! Like I would wear your outfit. We could just trade outfits and hair. I would wear your all of it. I'll wear all of it. We could do this all day long. Do you see it? So, can we please talk about this new show on Lifetime?
Yes, we can.
Glam Masters, fill me in. Cuz I'm not totally sure I haven't connected all the dots. So, fill me in.
Okay, I will connect the dots for you. It is the first make-up show. Like for make-up artists, make-up enthusiasts, Instagram beauty people. Just make-up, not special effects, not body painting. It's just make-up on the face, editorial, beauty. There has never been a competition show like this. So, it's so exciting. There's four people that compete each episode, three get eliminated, and one wins each episode.
Yeah. It's like, high That's action, like, you're getting chopped.
Yeah. That sucks! So you don't if you don't make the cut. Yeah. You're like out of there. You don't bring that look, you're gone. You don't get a second chance. But then the winner gets to do a make-up collaboration with Kim Kardashian West. She's like the executive producer, right?
Yeah. Oh my God. That's gonna like That's gonna change their life, you know?
Right. Absolutely.
So, for a lot of people who do not know, you started off on YouTube, correct?
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
I wanna know from you. Okay. Um, how much has changed about YouTube since your very first YouTube video to now?
Oh my God. How much has changed, at least with like your channel? Everything. I had a camera that had a tape with a squeaky thing, like a cassette tape. It was from your grandparents' garage sale.
What do you mean your grandparents'? Wait. Did you say a cassette tape? I'm done.
I'm telling you, it was from my grandparents. If your grandparents are selling something at a garage sale and nobody buys it, but your grandparents own, you know that thing is old. My video camera was so old. It was so
Stop. It's the quality is terrible. So, what bit of advice would you give Candy Johnson when you very first started to now?
Oh, boy. I mean, I don't think I would give myself any advice because there was no advice to be given then. I just did what my heart was what I wanted to do and I wanted to make people feel beautiful. I wanted to teach them and I think that that was the best intent to do YouTube with. There was nobody famous. There's nobody making money on it. I just like wanted to do it because I wanted to help people. I think that was the best intention reason to start.
I love that. We've been talking back and forth about how amazing you look. All that good stuff. Yeah. How you like my
Yeah.
In in the in the world of meeting guys and things of that nature, or whoever in general, do you feel like there's like pressure to always stay on, always have that wing liner on point, lips, hair,
Oh, I think in the world too because people see things on Instagram and then they think like everybody needs to look perfect and snatched and all this stuff all day long, like, I'm in the sweats and moisturizer most every day.
Right. Right. I love it.
But then when the people I go into the store to get a juice every day and when I went in with like my make-up done. I had to go to something. They're like, oh my gosh, Candy. Where what's happened? No, they're like, what's going on? Like, you look so different. I was like, This is disrespectful. This is too much shock. There's too much shock on your face at how different I look.
Right. Oh my God. That's not okay. I'd be like, oh my God. I'd be like, what are you saying? Please elaborate. I was like, okay. So, so you don't feel like there's like any pressure for you for the most part?
I mean, I feel like I make videos without make-up on and I look terrible and like if you see my Snapchat, that's how I look. So I'm like if you see me in Target like that that's how I look most of the time. There it is. Not looking good. Yeah. This is there this isn't happening every day. Whoop. Now, honestly. I got fancy for you, Ruba.
Say, girl, I appreciate it. Same here, you know. They can like Candy comes to the studio. Oh, I love it. We got we got to bring it. You represent it. Thank you. I appreciate it. Now, I know um I did a little stocking on your IG your Instagram I did a little stocking on your Instagram story. And you were saying like, oh my God, it's like I think it was like 2:00 in the morning, you're like I have to be up in like two hours. Now, for me when I'm getting ready, I like to hear music. I like to get amped up. Yes. Oh, yeah, the morning. Yeah, in the morning. Yes. Yes. You have to be woken up. Absolutely. Like, the woke is real. Yeah. I needed to be woke this morning. I was like, my eyes are burning. The lights are burning my eyes. It's the concealer. Yeah. So, so is there like one song in particular that really like no matter when, what time of the day.
I kinda really obsessed with Finesse. Like, I just really I just love that song. I'm like, oh And I kinda have it timed down, like, I know how long it is. So I'm like, Finesse is played three times. That means I gotta get going. Just Finesse.
Oh, I love it. Candy, congratulations.
Thanks, Ruba.
On Glam Masters and just all of your success. You are so incredibly sweet. Thank you so much. I'll come back and hang out and just admire your outfits every day.
Listen, we can do this all day. Like every day, I will make my you're my Candy, show me something good. Like, Ruba, show me what you're wearing. Admire me. I love it.
