I am here on the set of Alexis Jordan's first music video for Happiness.

This is an amazing set.

How do you feel out there today?

I feel like it's exciting. It's young, it's positive and very energetic.

Gotta have a lot of energy to do this, but um I'm loving it.

Yeah, Well you're running the whole song through, like from beginning to end, so that's gonna take a lot of effort.

A lot of effort.

You gotta dance, you gotta remember to lip sync and a-ha.

Smile, of course.

Well, the song is amazing.

It's definitely one of those songs that stays in your head.

It's a very catchy tune.

I know.

Everyone back there is singing it.

Yeah!

It's just a little hum.

You know, you got it.

Exactly.

So what's the experience like for you so far?

Amazing.

We wake up early in the morning.

How early, how early do you wake up today?

I'm gonna say 3:00 AM, 4:00 AM.

But you know what, it's, it's worth it.

And then you hair makeup is always fun, and the clothes.

I'm really girly, so.

That's a fun step.

And then you get out here, that's a sweaty step.

Now, tell me more about the concept behind the song and the video today.

Um, the concept is, of course, I find love.

But first I found it within myself.

And then of course, this great guy comes along, and that creates even more happiness.

And you know, you gotta have that good feel vibe when you're dancing.

So, You're a great dancer out there.

You're good.

I like the style, too, today.

All the bright colors, I think I dressed right.

Yeah, you did.

You did, you matched all the other dancers.

So, I have to say congratulations on just recently getting so much success.

You just signed to Roc Nation.

That is, that is just a blessing.

I'm sure.

Yeah.

So tell me about, you know, when you first heard about this.

When I was getting signed, I was so hyped.

I'm just like, oh my gosh, this is really happening.

The album's almost finished, and everything's going great.

When you first found out that it was Jay-Z, what was it about him that you wanted to sign with?

Why would you want to go with Jay-Z and Stargate?

They're very focused, and they love what they do, and I love what I do.

So, that combination, it's great.

Who was your inspiration?

Any artists that you really looked up to when you were younger?

I'm actually inspired by all artists, because they have their own little unique thing.

Janet Jackson, Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion.

Great, great artists.

Many more out there, but I'm, it's my turn.

You really remind me of Beyoncé.

I mean, I'm sure you hear that all the time.

I've heard that one.

I know, for sure.

I know that you garnered a lot of fans, millions of viewers on YouTube, when you uploaded your videos.

Now that seems to be the way of the game right now.

I mean, Justin Bieber got his start like that, too.

At first, I didn't like.

I was like, Mom, this is weird.

But you know, as you get into it, you love doing it.

You're like, this is fun.

I'm like, singing in front of, just singing in front of the camera is fun.

What is on your iPod right now?

Of course, Jay-Z.

Duh.

B. O. B and Bruno Mars.

That song is my jam.

If you were to give any advice to any young artists out there that are aspiring to get to where you are, what would you say to them?

I would say stay focused.

That's the key.

Stay focused, and um, of course, keep going for it.

Cuz I know it's hard.
