Mariah Carey has left fans puzzled after footage of her whistling to one her songs has emerged online.
The superstar singer has just finished her Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace, which began in May 2016 and ended on 18 July (17).
Towards the end of her tenure audience members voiced their disappointment over her lacklustre performances, with videos showing Mariah, 47, putting little effort into her dance routines, and a new clip from one of those dates uploaded onto Twitter on Tuesday (25Jul17) has further left fans scratching their heads.
In the clip, Mariah's 2002 track with Busta Rhymes, I Know What You Want, can be heard playing in the background, though rather than singing the Grammy Award winner is seen whistling along to part of the track while moving her arms to the music.
User doowah_diddy commented, "Have yall seen Mariah Carey whistling instead of singing the words. She TIDE," seemingly suggesting she may be tired, while another noted she may soon "take a nap" on stage. It's unclear how long she whistled along for but it was another embarrassing moment for the star who seemed less than enthusiastic at points during her Vegas tour dates.
However, the criticism doesn't appear to have dampened Mariah's spirits. On Wednesday she took to Twitter to tease a new clip from upcoming animated Christmas movie, The Star, featuring the voices of famous names including Oprah Winfrey, Gina Rodriguez and Kelly Clarkson as well as a snippet of the film's title track sung by Mariah.
Ignoring the online comments, the Baby Doll singer seemed thrilled to tweet the trailer, captioning the clip, which features an introduction from her, "Very excited to share a tease for the new movie #TheStarMovie which will be out in theaters in time for Christmas! #NewSong #TheStar".
Mariah's own festive hit, All I Want For Christmas, is set to get the big screen treatment this year too as it's set to be reimagined as a feature film by Universal.
