James McAvoy stops Macbeth performance to reprimand theatregoer
James Mcavoy halted a performance of Macbeth last week (ends07Apr13) to berate a theatregoer for filming the play on a cell phone.
The X-Men: First Class star is currently tackling the title role in William Shakespeare's tragedy at London's Trafalgar Studios, but he stopped last Thursday's (04Apr13) show when he spotted a man recording the action.
McAvoy told the culprit that he wouldn't continue with the play
until the mobile device was put away.
A spokesperson for the theatre says in a statement, "An audience
member was caught filming by the actor James McAvoy.
"The filming disrupted the production of Macbeth, forcing James
McAvoy to respond to (the) audience member by asking them to stop
filming immediately.
"The production then continued as planned once the camera was put
away."
McAvoy previously interrupted a performance of Macbeth to help an
audience member who collapsed during the play last month
(Mar13).
