The award, which is named after legendary U.S. comedian Bob Hope,
is given out by U.S. military officials to those who give up large
amounts of time to perform for and meet servicemen.
"I am so humbled to be in such great company in receipt of this
honor from the Department of Defense," Kellie said after accepting
the award with her husband Kyle Jacobs, also a musician.
"We've been so blessed to have a great relationship with the USO
which has allowed us to be able to take a little piece of home to
our service men and women both overseas and here at home," she
added.
Kellie has gone on nine United Services Organizations (USO) tours
in her career, performing for troops and raising funds for the
organization, which helps American soldiers and their families.
