Cara Delevingne signs up for comedy with Will Ferrell - report

Cara Delevingne has reportedly signed up to appear alongside Will Ferrell in a comedy movie.

The model-turned-actress has been doing her utmost to make a name for herself as a film star, with her most recent role seeing her star alongside Margot Robbie, Jared Leto and Will Smith in Suicide Squad.

But after solidifying her status as Hollywood hot property, Cara is said to be keen to show off a different side of herself by taking on an entirely different genre.

"Cara has stuck to serious roles so far but she feels like now is the time to explore what else she can do," a source told Britain's The Sun newspaper. "Her friends know she has a wacky fun side and she can’t wait for audiences to see this side of her on the big screen.

"Cara has always wanted to do comedy but didn’t want to go straight in with a silly film without having proved her acting credentials first."

The 24-year-old has also been given a comedic seal of approval with Anchorman and Old School funny man Will also signing up to appear in the film. While neither the title nor plot of the upcoming movie have been revealed, bosses are apparently certain that getting both Cara and Will on board is sure to make it a success.

"Cara is the toast of Hollywood right now and producers know any film she gets on board with will be a huge hit," the source added. "The fact that Will is in it too means it is sure to rake in millions at the box office."

After first finding fame as a model, Cara made her movie debut in 2012's Anna Karenina, before landing her first major role in The Face of an Angel in 2014. A role in Paper Towns came in 2015, before Kids in Love and Suicide Squad hit screens this year (16).

Cara has a further three movies due for release in the next 12 months - London Fields, Tulip Fever and sci-fi thriller Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, which also stars Ethan Hawke, Rihanna and Clive Owen.
