JACKSON PRAISES MAN BEHIND WARDROBE MALFUNCTION
JANET JACKSON has heaped praise on the designer of her infamous nipple-baring Super Bowl costume, branding him a great "love" in her life. The singer was forced to issue an apology for the 2004 "wardrobe malfunction", which happened when Justin Timberlake tore off part of her corset during a half-time duet, exposing her breast to millions of unsuspecting viewers of the football event. British designer Alexander McQueen confirmed he created the tight black outfit Jackson wore on the night earlier this week (beg12May08), prompting the pop star to come to his defence, insisting she does not hold him responsible for the incident. She tells Fox News, "I thought maybe only half of the outfit was (his design), but I guess he did all of it." She adds, "I don't blame him; he didn't rip it. Alexander is so great at what he does - he's a genius. I've loved him for a long time, ever since I saw one of his very first shows 10 years ago in London, which is where we first met."
KRISTIN DAVIS: `I'M AN ALCOHOLIC'
SEX AND THE CITY star KRISTIN DAVIS can't even sip wine because she's an alcoholic. The actress, 43, admits she used love to drink wine but can no longer trust herself to stick to just one glass - so she prefers not to indulge at all. Davis tells The Globe she has been sober for 18 years and reveals therapy sessions helped her beat boozing. She says, "I am an alcoholic. I know people who have abused alcohol and now they can have one (drink) and they're fine and I respect that. "I'd love to have a glass of wine, but what if I have another, then another? My life is too important for me to risk that."
FERRERA: LOHAN'S 'GREAT'
LINDSAY LOHAN's performance on the set of TV show UGLY BETTY has impressed the series' star AMERICA FERRERA. Lohan is set to appear on the show's season finale next week (22May08) to play Kimberley, the high school nemesis of Ferrera's title character Betty. The 21-year-old actress signed up for six episodes of the hit programme in a bid to reignite her struggling Hollywood career. And Ferrera, 24, is keen to join the chorus of Ugly Betty bosses who claim Lohan's reputation as a troublesome and tardy star is unfounded. Ferrera coos, "(Lohan) was really wonderful and was gracious and showed up and was on time. "I don't mean to be smart or snide. She was really great, she was lovely. She's going to be back for five more episodes in the third season here in New York."
ROMO DUMPED SIMPSON BECAUSE OF HER DAD'S ANTICS
Sports star TONY ROMO allegedly called off his romance with JESSICA SIMPSON after growing tired of her meddling father, according to a new report. A friend who attended Eastern Illinois college with Romo, claims the football quarterback and the pop star ''are definitely over" - despite Simpson's representatives insisting the duo are still an item. And the source - who was reportedly with Romo while he partied with a bevy of beauties at a Chicago, Illinois bar at the weekend (10May08) - claims her overbearing father, Joe Simpson, was one of the major factors in their split. The unnamed pal tells the Chicago Sun-Times that Joe Simpson had been ''not only telling Jessica every move to make, but now has begun to offer unsolicited advice to Tony on his career, endorsement opportunities and things that have nothing to do with him dating Jessica.''
WENTZ THROWS PRE-WEDDING PARTY?
PETE WENTZ fueled reports he will wed fiancee ASHLEE SIMPSON in a ceremony this weekend (begs17May08) when he stepped out for a wild night with her father and a band of male pals in Los Angeles on Thursday night (15May08). The couple is rumored to be exchanging vows in Encino, California on Saturday (17May08). The Fall Out Boy bassist was joined at Los Angeles restaurant Mr. Chow by his bandmates, and Simpson's father Joe, Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden and an army of friends. Wentz was spotted sneaking out the back door as his friends all left by the entrance. Ashlee's older sister Jessica reportedly joined the group when it moved the party to a nearby hotel, while bride-to-be Ashlee was allegedly hosting a bachelorette party at Kiki De Montparnasse, a luxury lingerie store.
